Mother's Day is a popular time to start planting flowers and garden plants in many regions of the world. With the arrival of warmer weather, it's the perfect time to get outside and start creating a beautiful garden that your mom is sure to love. In this blog post, we'll take a look at some of the best flowers and garden plants to start in your garden on or after Mother's Day.

Four years ago we started our first garden with one goal. Save money on flowers by growing them ourselves! Unfortunately, we had a rough go at it the first time around. Now years later we are finally revisiting flowers in a big way! It's taken a lot of learning and mistakes to realize that our problem was the complex nature of the plants we were choosing at the time (and their inappropriateness to our local climate.)

Below is a list of edible flowers we have learned to love in the garden for their beauty, simplicity to grow, and the multitude of benefits they provide in our home & garden!
